What every IR should know about paediatric IR

March 14, 2024, 17:00 – 18:20 CET

Paediatric IR is an evolving field which is increasingly being recognized as an alternative to surgery in paediatric hospitals throughout Europe. IRs who are primarily versed in adult IR interventions find themselves occasionally taking the lead on paediatric cases, particularly in smaller medical centres where dedicated interventional services for children are lacking. This webinar will cover common paediatric procedures and will serve as a reference tool for IRs who do not specialize in paediatric IR. All lectures will cover challenges related to interventional tools and the age of the patient. Join us to enhance your expertise in this evolving field and help make paediatric IR more accessible.

Learning objectives

Provide non-paediatric interventional radiologists a comprehensive understanding of vascular accesses, vascular anomalies, liver, bone and neurointerventions in the paediatric field, taking into account:

  1. Key considerations, challenges and best practices.
  2. Essential diagnostic factors, treatment methods.
  3. Significance of interdisciplinary approaches, multidisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient care and effective management.
