Something for everyone
ET accepts submissions of scientific abstracts, educational abstracts, case reports, and FIRST@ET clinical trial abstracts, the final data set of which must be presented for the first time at ET. FIRST@ET and scientific abstract submitters can indicate a preference between an oral presentation or an electronic poster. Accepted educational and case report abstracts will be presented as electronic posters.
“The submitting process is very intuitive,” advises Slivia Buso Gil”, who presented a scientific abstract last year. “Just find a way to summarize your research and be clear about your results and how they can benefit patient care.”
Antonio Arrichiello, another top-scoring 2023 scientific submitter, emphasises “Every piece of well conducted research is important and will help improve our speciality, even when you don’t succeed in demonstrating what you initially wanted.”

Recognition on an international stage
In addition to the chance to showcase your work either on stage or through an electronic poster, all approved abstracts for ET 2024 will be featured in a dedicated supplement of CVIR, the longest-standing journal in the realm of vascular and interventional radiology.
Scientific and educational posters will be eligible for consideration for the ET 2024 Poster Awards, a selection made by the ECIO Scientific Programme Committee prior to the event. Recipients of the poster awards will receive a certificate, an invitation to submit a manuscript to CVIR, and will be highlighted on CIRSE’s social media platforms. The presenter who recieves the Magna Cum Laude award for their poster will enjoy complimentary registration for an upcoming CIRSE congress and the chance to partake in an interview for CIRSE Insider.
Post-congress, the Best Scientific Paper award will be conferred to one submitter, determined by both ET congress attendees and the Scientific Programme Committee. The recipient will be encouraged to submit a manuscript to CVIR, receive complimentary registration for a CIRSE congress of their choosing in 2024 or 2025, and be featured in an interview for CIRSE Insider.
